Dr. Sherlock is a Consultant Orthodontist with extensive training and experience in the management of all orthodontic problems in adults and children.
He has trained at some of the top institutions in the UK, including Kings College London, where he gained his specialty training in orthodontics; and gained Fellowships in both Dentistry and Orthodontics from The Royal College of Surgeons of England. He is a member of the British Orthodontic Society and is on the Orthodontic Specialist list at The General Dental Council.
His innovative approach has also led to several publications in the peer-reviewed orthodontic literature. Dr. Joseph Sherlock provides an extremely high standard of orthodontic care and is skilled in the most-up-to-date orthodontic techniques including lingual braces (on the ‘inside’ of the teeth), Invisalign (‘clear’ aligners) and conventional aesthetic braces, Inman aligners etc.
His personalised approach is tailored to the needs of each patient. He utilises the appliance system most suited to patient’s needs and to achieve the perfect smile in a way that is comfortable and discreet.

Mr. Michael Simpson
Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon BDS, MBBS, MRCS, FFDRCS
Is a consultant in the Beds, Herts and Bucks Maxillofacial network.
Mr. Simpson has been a maxillofacial surgeon for over 30 years and is an expert in orthognathic surgery (jaw surgery)
He performs facial surgery at the highest level to complement the orthodontic treatment of Dr. Sherlock, where a combination of orthodontic braces and jaw surgery are required to produce the ideal jaw shape and position, as well as the best position of the teeth.
Such ‘combined’ treatments can optimise the cosmetic facial appearance and the functioning of the teeth and jaws.
Mr. Simpson also specialises in the placement of dental (osseointegrated) implants to replace missing or poor quality teeth, and restore the optimal dental and facial appearance and function.

Sarah Folkes, Senior Dental Nurse
Sarah is a senior dental nurse in Dr. Sherlock’s Bedford branch of The Smile and Facial Rejuvenation Clinic Clinic. She is highly specialized in orthodontic nursing, with over 20 years experience in orthodontic and super-specialised craniofacial and maxillofacial-orthodontic nursing.
Sarah is also skilled in oral health education, and is the patient-liaison manager for Dr. Sherlock’s Bedford branch of The Smile and Facial Rejuvenation Clinic.
Lucy Coppenhall, Orthodontic Nurse
Lucy is a dedicated orthodontic nurse, who previously spent many years working in general dental practice. She has experience in orthodontic nursing, maxillofacial surgery nursing and the nursing care of craniofacial orthodontic and facial deformity patients.
